California Fire & Water: A Poetry Reading to Address Our Climate Crisis
POSTPONED FOR PUBLIC HEALTH REASONS
As part of a fellowship from the Academy of American Poets, former Nevada County Poet Laureate Molly Fisk created a project to teach kids across California to write poems about climate crisis as a way to work out their feelings about it. Out of the best of those poems and poems contributed by 145 adults, she put together an extraordinary anthology, California Fire & Water.
For this special evening launching the book, 20 poets of all ages will come together to share their poem from the anthology. Readers include Molly Fisk, Nevada County Poet Laureate Chris Olander, Kirsten Casey, Judy Crowe, Terri Enborg, Willow Hein, Maxima Kahn, Michael Leaver, Rooja Mohassessy, Jude O’Nym, Judie Rae, Wren Tuatha, Emma Kerley, Katy Brown, and students from Nevada Union High School District.
Host: Molly Fisk. Co-sponsored by the Sierra Poetry Festival and the Oustomah Lodge #16, Nevada City Odd Fellows.
